We are looking for a hardworking, dependable Yard Employee to join our building materials team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating equipment, helping customers, and being part of a fast-paced team environment.
As a Yard Employee, you will assist with loading and unloading materials, maintaining inventory, organizing the yard, and providing excellent customer service to contractors, builders, and homeowners.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload lumber, drywall, roofing, siding, and other building materials.
- Assist customers with selecting and loading products.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely.
- Keep the yard clean, organized, and well-stocked.
- Pull and stage customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Receive incoming shipments and verify materials against packing slips.
- Assist drivers with preparing deliveries.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following company safety procedures.
- Work collaboratively with yard, warehouse, and sales team members.
Qualifications
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds on a regular basis.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Forklift experience preferred but not required; training available.
- Experience in the building materials, lumber, or construction industry is a plus.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
