Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated, customer-focused Furniture Sales Associate to join our team. This position is responsible for helping customers create comfortable, functional, and beautiful living spaces by guiding them through the furniture purchasing process. The ideal candidate is relationship-driven, enjoys working with people, and takes pride in providing an exceptional customer experience from the first greeting through delivery and follow-up.

This role combines consultative selling, product knowledge, customer service, and relationship building to ensure customers find the right products for their homes and lifestyles.

Primary Responsibilities

Customer Sales & Service

  •  Greet customers promptly and professionally. 
  •  Build relationships by understanding customers' needs, preferences, budgets, and timelines. 
  •  Guide customers through furniture selections including living room, dining room, bedroom, home office, and occasional furniture. 
  •  Recommend complementary products and accessories to complete room solutions. 
  •  Present financing, protection plans, and available promotions. 
  •  Create a positive shopping experience that results in customer satisfaction and repeat business. 
Sales Process Management

  •  Prepare and complete accurate sales orders. 
  •  Maintain customer records and follow-up schedules. 
  •  Contact customers regarding special orders, delivery updates, and product availability. 
  •  Follow up on quotes and unsold opportunities. 
  •  Meet or exceed individual sales goals and department objectives. 
  •  Develop long-term customer relationships that generate referrals and repeat sales. 
Product Knowledge

  •  Maintain thorough knowledge of furniture lines, manufacturers, features, materials, warranties, and customization options. 
  •  Stay informed on industry trends, design styles, and current promotions. 
  •  Assist customers in selecting products that best fit their lifestyle, space, and budget. 
  •  Understand delivery, service, and protection plan offerings. 
Showroom Presentation

  •  Maintain an attractive and organized showroom. 
  •  Ensure displays are clean, properly tagged, and merchandised according to company standards. 
  •  Assist with floor moves, display updates, and seasonal merchandising. 
  •  Report damaged or missing merchandise promptly. 
Team Support

  •  Work collaboratively with fellow sales associates, delivery teams, customer service staff, and management. 
  •  Assist with inventory verification and showroom audits as needed. 
  •  Support store events, promotions, and community outreach efforts. 
Qualifications

Required

  •  High school diploma or equivalent. 
  •  Strong customer service and communication skills. 
  •  Positive attitude and professional appearance. 
  •  Ability to work weekends and flexible retail hours. 
  •  Ability to learn product features and sales techniques. 
  •  Self-motivated with a strong work ethic. 
Preferred

  •  Previous retail sales experience. 
  •  Furniture, mattress, appliance, home improvement, or interior design experience. 
  •  Experience with financing programs and protection plans. 
  •  Proven ability to meet sales goals.
