Job Summary:
Alpha is looking for a dedicated, hardworking individual to step into a key position in our Metal Production Department at Shipshewana. This role is designed to start as a physical production role and transition into a leadership and operations management position over time.
You’ll work closely with our current manager who brings decades of experience in metal coil purchasing, product knowledge, and industry relationships. As current leadership moves into a more strategic role, you’ll help lead day-to-day operations—managing workflow, supporting the team, maintaining equipment, and ensuring we continue to deliver excellent products on time.
This is not a desk job. You'll be running rollformers, managing work orders, troubleshooting production issues, and building a deep understanding of our systems and people. If you’re someone who learns fast, wants to lead well, and doesn’t mind getting your hands dirty, we’d love to talk.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain rollforming equipment and metal fabrication tools
- Assist with coordinating daily production flow and fulfilling customer orders
- Train in product specs, inventory systems, and material purchasing
- Provide support and direction to production staff as needed
- Monitor quality control and workflow efficiency
- Help troubleshoot mechanical or process issues
- Communicate with sales and support staff to ensure accurate job completion
- Begin building leadership capacity and confidence in managing the department
Desired Traits & Qualifications:
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Mechanical or technical aptitude; experience with production equipment a plus
- Willingness to learn inventory systems, product knowledge, and team leadership
- Interest in moving into a management role over time
- Ability to work full-time on-site in Shipshewana
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience a bonus, but not required
- Physical ability to lift, move, and work in a shop environment

Compensation: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
