Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven General Manager to lead our thriving hardware store operation. This is a senior leadership position responsible for the overall management and performance of all store divisions, including Store Operations, Contractor Sales, Flooring Division, and Equipment Rentals.

The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with extensive experience in retail management, operations, and team development, and will thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:
     
    • Lead and coordinate operations across all store divisions to ensure alignment with business goals. 
    • Develop and execute operational strategies to drive sales, customer satisfaction, and profitability. 
    • Identify opportunities for growth, process improvement, and new business initiatives.

  • Division Oversight:
     
    • Supervise and support division leaders including Store Manager, Contractor Sales,  Flooring Division Manager, and Rental Department Manager. 
    • Ensure that each department meets its individual targets and integrates well with overall store objectives.

  • Staff Development & HR:
     
    • Recruit, train, and mentor department managers and staff. 
    • Foster a positive team culture with a focus on accountability, customer service, and continuous improvement.

  • Customer Experience:
     
    • Ensure exceptional customer service standards across all departments. 
    • Engage with key clients, including contractors, homeowners, and commercial accounts. 

  • Inventory & Vendor Management:
     
    • Support division managers in maintaining optimal inventory levels and purchasing practices. 
    • Provide guidance on vendor selection, product sourcing, and inventory flow across departments. 
    • Assist in building and maintaining strong vendor relationships to ensure product availability and competitive pricing. 
    • Monitor inventory performance and collaborate with department leads to address slow-moving or high-demand items.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in a General Manager, Store Manager, or Operations Manager role, preferably in the hardware, building materials, or home improvement industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple departments.
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting and retail metrics.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in retail management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
