Job Summary:
The Purchasing Associate is responsible for assisting the Purchasing Manager in accurately receiving and entering products, creating and adjusting SKUs, ordering new product and helping with store displays and product placement. 60% - 70% of your job is at the computer. 30% - 40% is walking the store and adjusting or creating pricing and displays.

Responsibilities:
- Creating and receiving purchase orders
- SKU creation and maintenance
- Sale and promotion creation and maintenance
- Ordering from the Do It Best warehouse
- Overseeing document imports/exports as well as product updates from Do It Best
- Using Microsoft software to create pricing and product stickers
- Processing special orders from Do It Best and UPS/FedEx
- Processing warranty claims with our vendors
- Creating sale signage - either by hand or with Microsoft Publisher
- Setting up endcaps and displays and resetting aisles to include new product
- Occasional assembly of wheelbarrows, patio furniture, store displays, etc.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Excellent communication skills, high attention to detail, and ability to multitask
- Able to walk, reach, and bend to perform job duties
- Initiative to work with little supervision.
- Well-rounded computer skills including typing, data entry and Microsoft Office products. Willing to learn new software.
- High level of social maturity including respect, integrity, and honesty
Work hours: Typical weekly 40-hour shifts may include: Weekday hours between 7:00am -- 4:00pm or 8:00 – 5:00pm
PAY AND BENEFITS:
Starting hourly pay range is $18 - $22 DOE
Employees are eligible for the following benefits following a 90-day orientation period:
- Medical Insurance with HSA contributions. Employer pays 75% of employee premium.
- Paid Holidays (6 paid holidays per year)
- Sick pay and Paid Vacation. Begins accruing after 90 days.
