This is a full-time, in-person role designed for someone who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and helping customers bring their residential, agricultural, and commercial projects to life.

You’ll be part of a collaborative team that guides customers from initial vision through project completion—providing expert support with design ideas, accurate estimates, and top-tier service. • Provide design guidance for residential, agricultural, and commercial builds that aligns with customer needs, budget, and style preferences.
  • Meet with customers in-office and on-site to understand their goals for remodeling, new construction, or custom projects.
  • Develop initial design concepts, sketches, or layouts to help customers visualize their project.
  • Create accurate and detailed quotes using current market pricing and available products.
  • Prepare and present CAD drawings, 3D renderings, or other design tools to communicate project details.
  • Manage and track special orders to ensure accuracy, availability, and timely delivery.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Guide customers through each step of the project, from first consultation to final completion, ensuring excellent communication and follow-through.
  • Monitor project progress, address challenges as they arise, and maintain clear documentation for customers and staff.
  • Stay current on building materials, design trends, and software tools (e.g., CAD, 20/20, Chief Architect, or similar).
  • Welcome and assist walk-in customers with purchases, product knowledge, and general inquiries.
  • Uphold high standards of service, accuracy, and professionalism to ensure every customer has a positive experience.
Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in sales, construction, drafting/design, or customer service (preferred)
  • Knowledge of building materials, estimating, or construction process (strongly preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Comfortable using technology and learning internal quoting/order entry systems
  • Self-motivated with a team-oriented attitude
  • Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant post-secondary education is a plus
Additional Details:

  • Training provided; pay based on experience
  • Opportunities for advancement within our growing business
  • Position is located in our main lumberyard office
  • Occasional travel to local job sites or customer meetings may be required
