POSITION OVERVIEW
The Warehouse Lead candidate is a meticulous planner who is strives to maintain a safe, smooth, secure and efficient warehouse operation. Responsibilities include facility maintenance, vehicle & equipment maintenance, inventory control, in-bound inventory storage, order picking and out-bound shipping. Lead will operate in a professional, ethical and courteous manner with the goal of assuring total customer satisfaction with the company’s goods & services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead is responsible for the operations, facilities and personnel at our distribution center.
- Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse facility including docks and yards
- Maintain equipment and vehicle logs
- Adhere to procedures & protocols for merchandise receipt, handling, storage and order picking and staging
- Support company’s recycling operations
- Follow proper inventory documentation protocols, data entry, bar coding
- Report shipping/receiving shortages, overages
- Maintain (FIFO) inventory control & conduct precise and accurate cycle inventories as required.
- Involvement in distressed inventory handling including coordinating service repairs
- Maintain a positive relationship with company’s internal and external customers
SPECIAL PROJECTS:
Occasionally the Operations manager will assign special assignments which Lead will complete or supervise.
RELATIONSHIPS:
The Warehouse Lead reports to the Operations Manager. Lead is expected to maintain professional and cordial communications with all other department managers in order to foster good relationships within the organization and assure total customer satisfaction.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Keen knowledge of common business practices, POS, warehousing best practices, logistics, safety, OSHA requirements, Excel spreadsheets. Must have five (3) years warehouse/logistics experience, and valid California driver's license. Must be able to drive a box truck with manual transmission. High school or equivalent (Required)
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and be willing to undergo a criminal/theft background check.
Experience:
- Warehouse supervision: 3 years (Required)
- Operating carton or appliance clamp: 2 years (Preferred)
- Operating a sit-down forklift: 3 years (Required)
- Using barcode readers: 2 years (Preferred)
- POS: 2 years (Required)
License/Certification:
- California drivers License (Required)
Compensation: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
