We’re looking for a driven Contractor Salesperson who thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves helping contractors find the right products, pricing, and service to get the job done right.
Westside Building Supply, founded in 1959, is one of the largest independent, family-owned building material retailers in the Pacific Northwest. We serve contractors and do-it yourselfers through our large lumberyard facility as well as a modern, vibrant retail store building. Westside specializes in complete house packages, offering prompt delivery, and expert service.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
· Serve as a primary contact for contractor accounts
· Produce material lists based on building plans
· Build long-term relationships with builders, remodelers, and tradespeople
· Manage pricing, quotes, and order processing with accuracy and urgency
· Collaborate with other sales team members, the yard team, and the delivery team to ensure top service
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:
· Experience in contractor sales and building materials
· Extensive knowledge of residential construction, including foundations, framing and siding
· Ability to produce an accurate material list from a set of plans
· Excellent communication and negotiation skills
· Self-motivation and goal-oriented mindset
· Ability to manage multiple accounts with attention to detail

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Experience and Licensing:
· High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
· Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and future random screenings.
· Computer skills: able to work at a desktop workstation typing in orders and quotes, ability to learn Point of Sale order entry system.
· Understanding of construction methods, codes and materials used in our area.
· Initiative to work with little supervision.
· Outgoing personality focused on excellent customer service and problem-solving.
· Ability to manage several on-going quotes and jobs in an efficient and organized manner.
· Ability to work closely with others as part of a sales team.
· Math skills sufficient to calculate area, volume, and quantities.
· High level of social maturity including respect, integrity, and honesty.
WORK HOURS: Typical 40-hour week may include Weekday hours between 7:00am – 4:00pm or 8:00am – 5:00pm and sometimes Saturday 8:00am – 4:00pm.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly moves throughout the store facility and lumber yard working with customers. May be required to lift and/or move 25-50 pounds occasionally. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand for long periods of time.
PAY AND BENEFITS:
Starting hourly pay range is $25 - $40 DOE
Employees are eligible for the following benefits following a 90-day orientation period:
- Medical Insurance with HSA contributions. Employer pays 75% of employee premium.
- Paid Holidays (6 paid holidays per year)
- Sick pay Paid Vacation. Begins accruing after 90 days.
- Family Medical Leave – Employer pays 100% of employee deductions.

Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- No nights
- Rotating Saturdays
