Essential Functions
- Unload and/or assist in unloading delivery trucks (if necessary) - all items should be put in their proper place within 24hours.
- Verify that all materials line up with the packing slip before the truck driver leaves the yard.
- Take pictures of any damaged items and note on Packing slip. Give this information to the buyer so he can get rectified.
- All receiving paperwork should be done by the end of the day the items were delivered.
- Assist in putting away stock items (both inside and outside.)
- Communicate with your manager regarding absence so that we can make every effort to cover the receiving duties during that time.
- Verify counts and product against packing slips for accuracy.
- Check product for quality and damage and take pictures to prove damage and report this to the vendor.
- Assist to ensure shelves are stocked inside and outside. All pallets, units of lumber, sheetrock and other material are stocked neatly and presentable for our customers and safety.
- Verify all items on Packing slips and line up with what you are receiving.
- Look for any damaged items.
Other Functions
- Handle the inventory return process and communicate with the vendors and salesperson.
- Follow instructions from the yard manager as well as the director of supply chain.
- Process receiving packing slips.
- Overlook transfer items, make sure paperwork is received and stocked appropriate spot.
- Label all products with the correct SKU#’s.
- Assist with keeping the warehouse and office areas clean and tidy.
- This job description is not limited only to above content. Duties and responsibilities may change at the discretion of both the yard manager as well as the director of supply chain
Qualifications
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Able to obtain forklift certification.
Experience & Education
- Knowledge of products sold.
- Excellent math skills.
- Problem solving skills.
Schedule
- 8-hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Rochester, MN: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Due to the safety and/or security sensitive nature of this classification, individuals shall be subject to pre-employment or pre-placement alcohol, drug and/or controlled substance testing as outlined in the handbook. Certain positions within this class are subject to DOT Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) drug and alcohol testing as outlined in 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 382 (by assignment).
Compensation: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
