Job Summary

Wood Shed is seeking a Store Manager to lead day-to-day operations at our Lumber & Hardware Supply location. This role is responsible for maximizing sales, minimizing expenses, optimizing merchandising, and modeling outstanding customer service. The Store Manager will embody Wood Shed values while building and leading an efficient, motivated, and productive sales team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service: Model excellent customer service and assist customers when needed.

  • Leadership: Interview, hire, train, schedule, and evaluate employees. Foster a team environment built on motivation, accountability, and outstanding service.

  • Store Operations: Oversee daily opening/closing procedures, maintain signage, direct merchandising, and ensure the sales floor is clean and organized.

  • Sales & Promotions: Coordinate sales events, promotions, and marketing efforts.

  • Inventory Management: Maintain appropriate stock levels, direct cycle counts, oversee deliveries and restocking.

  • Problem-Solving: Respond immediately to customer complaints and resolve them effectively.

  • Safety & Security: Be a role model for safety, enforce company policies, and protect inventory against loss.

  • Financial Oversight: Understand and manage store operations, including expenses, inventory control, and pricing strategies.

Qualifications

  • Proven customer service skills and professional attitude.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with experience managing teams.

  • Knowledge of retail operations including inventory, merchandising, and sales techniques.

  • Organized, motivated, and capable of independent problem-solving.

  • Proficient in POS systems and Google. 

  • Strong math and project management skills.

  • Knowledge of lumber, hardware, and building supply products preferred.

  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.

  • Build and lead a strong team of motivated retail associates.

  • Expand and apply knowledge of retail operations, inventory management, and pricing strategies.

Compensation: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
